Dr. Max Juriga

In October of 2021, Dr. Juriga joined our team here at Pittsburgh Premier Veterinary Care. Since then, his tremendous compassion, witty sense of humor and willingness to go above and beyond for our patients has improved morale of our staff and the satisfaction of our clients.

Dr. Juriga began his career path towards becoming a Veterinarian in 2016 when he graduated from Penn State University, earning a Bachelors Degree in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences.  He then progressed to receive his Doctorate Degree in Veterinary Medicine from Virginia Tech in 2020.

Early in his childhood, Dr. Juriga knew he was meant to be a Veterinarian! He has always been an animal lover, having grown up with dogs as some of his best friends. He values many aspects of this profession, but his favorite is his ability to interpret and decipher challenges within our furry friends. He views each case as a puzzle waiting to be solved, working with patients who are unable to speak for themselves. He has a particular interest in Internal and Rehabilitation Medicine and is currently working on his certification in Canine Rehabilitation. Dr. Juriga is adamant about providing our clients with knowledge and understanding of the importance of balanced diets and proper nutrition to aid in the fight against disease in their four-legged family members. He is persistent in educating clients, encouraging positive responses from pets, and understanding the behavior of our animals. Dr. Juriga always encourages "Happy Visits" for any of our patients who feel particularly nervous or simply need the extra positive attention! His has a good deal of experience in General Practice and beyond, as he was previously a rotating intern at a Emergency and Speciality hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Outside of Veterinary Medicine Dr. Juriga spends his time at dropzones as a licensed skydiver, competing in powerlifting, doing Ju Jitsu, and going on hikes/kayaking/being outdoors with his fiance and three dogs, Tuukka, Neville, and Booth.
